Wiccan Sermon: Loving Yourself.

One of the hardest things any of us will ever learn in this world is how to love ourselves. Being different from others we will always be under some form of prejudice based on our faith and our beliefs. It is this, that should never be seen as a weakness, but a test to our courage. Our courage to be different in this world which leads to inner strength. With that strength comes a vast array of possibilities, one of those is the rare chance that so many deny themselves which is the path to loving yourself. Realizing that you are a beautiful human being created and crafted in the divine’s eye and sent to this world for all things created by the divine are things of beauty. We are each beautiful, and loved, and encouraged to love ourselves. For without inner love, there can not be inner peace, and if we do not love our selves how do we expect other relationships we enter to flourish.

The path to loving one’s self is a hard one, yet a simple one all at the same time. The first aspect of loving yourself, is realizing that you have POWER. The power to change any fate you have been dealt. Some of us are born into families that were never supportive or cruel to us, but we have the power to leave them in our past. Grow stronger from the poisonous grounds from our birth, and become immune to it in a sense that we know its not our fault and we have the POWER to say no, I am a beautiful human being and don’t deserve this. Leaving our pasts behind comes second once you realize that you have the power to control your destiny in this world. Realizing that the past is nothing more than preparations for greater things. It is the learning experiences that help us realize what we want and don’t want in this world. Once you have mastered that, the third lesson of this sermon is natural, peace begins to set in once we realize that our past no longer controls us, that we control our present, which will in turn shape our future. It is all about choice, choose to be happy, choose choices that allow you to be happy, and follow through with your choices. Realize that no one has control over you but you!!!!! Let this lesson empower you so that you can empower others. We shape our own fates in this world and the way this works is by realizing you are powerful, beautiful and part of nature’s grand design. Believing in yourself and your abilities and don’t forget to recognize your weaknesses as our strengths arise from those and keep us humble. The next thing is forgiving yourself, forgive yourself for everything that you wish you would have done or felt you should have done. That is your past, and we must learn from it in order to let it go. The next thing is not settling for anything but what we know is best for us, in both what we eat, drink, how we live, our faith ect. When we settle instead of strive for the highest of ideals is when we become slaves to either addictions or things that are bad for us including people. Remember you have the power! You are beautiful! You are an amazing human being created by the gods, created and crafted by nature her self and nature always creates beauty in its own way……….

Once you realize that you don’t need anything in this world to be happy, but being happy with yourself that is when all doors open. For without loving yourself, how do you expect to truly love others and give them the love they deserve.

Forgive yourself for things you have let happen.

Realize that you are beautiful and that the divine, nature herself does not make mistakes.

Learn from your past, leave it behind because you don’t need that anymore.

Live in the present.

Don’t worry about what others have and you don’t, otherwise you will never be able to appreciate what is in front of you.

Know you are powerful! And have the power to change anything in your life.

Never settle and always strive for the highest of ideals so that we do not become slaves to anything.
